Generally some persons divides culture in ‘hight’ and popular. I think culture is culture. If culture is popular seems havd had success, if doesn’t popular seems didn’t have success. Raffaello, Leonardo da Vinci, Dante, Boccaccio was  Celebrities in theirs time,  and their success was into population and into ‘intellighenzia’, as now MINA or Battisti (best Italian song author), or Fuxia, or Pininfarina  (designer of Ferrari) .
